About The Project
The aim of this kitchen renovation in Chester was to completely change how the space was used by opening up the layout and creating a more social, modern environment. The existing kitchen felt separate from the rest of the home, limiting both space and interaction, so the decision was made to relocate it into the main living area to form a large open plan kitchen diner.
This transformation required more than just a visual upgrade. Significant work was carried out behind the scenes to relocate plumbing and electrical services, ensuring the new layout functioned properly and safely. With careful planning and coordination, everything was repositioned to support the new design without compromising performance.
The focus of the finished space was to combine practicality with a clean, contemporary look. The matt kitchen units, stone worktops, and ceramic sink all contribute to a high-quality finish, while the open layout creates a brighter, more connected living space. The result is a kitchen that feels far more spacious and better suited to modern living, making it the true centre of the home.

The Process & The Kitchen Design & Build In Progress
This kitchen renovation in Chester was carefully planned and managed to ensure a smooth transition from a closed, separate kitchen to a fully open plan living space.
The process began with an initial survey and design consultation, where the client’s goal of creating a larger, more sociable kitchen diner was discussed in detail. From there, the layout was reworked to relocate the kitchen into the living area, ensuring the new design would maximise space and improve flow throughout the home.
Once the plan was finalised, the existing kitchen was removed and the space prepared for the new layout. A key stage of the project involved relocating all plumbing and electrical services, including installing new 32-amp feeds for the ovens and induction hob and running connections back to the fuse board. This groundwork was essential to ensure the new kitchen functioned correctly in its new position.
With the infrastructure in place, the installation of the kitchen began. Units were fitted, stone worktops installed, and appliances positioned to suit the open plan layout. The ceramic sink and splashback were also installed, helping to complete the clean, modern finish.
Throughout the project, all trades were carefully coordinated, ensuring everything ran efficiently and to schedule. Thanks to thorough planning and strong project management, the entire process was completed smoothly, delivering a high-quality result with minimal disruption to the client.
Here you can see the work involved and what the space looked like as things progressed.
The finished kitchen is a complete transformation, turning a previously closed-off space into a bright, open plan kitchen diner that feels far more spacious and connected. By relocating the kitchen into the living area, the home now benefits from a layout that is better suited to modern living, allowing for easier movement, social interaction, and everyday use.
The combination of matt units, stone worktops, and clean finishes creates a contemporary look, while the improved layout makes the space more practical and enjoyable. Behind the scenes, all services have been expertly repositioned to ensure everything works seamlessly.
The result is a kitchen that not only looks modern and high-quality, but also completely changes how the space is used—making it the true centre of the home.
